I have loved books since I started "reading" Walt Disney classics at the age of 2! My young reading skills were really a product of a photographic memory which came in very handy in convincing family and their friends that I was a child prodigy.
I started writing my own stories by age 9. Publishing Bluette and Poppy Celebrate a Birthday is the fulfillment of a life-long dream.
Inspired by a memorable childhood and unbreakable bond that I shared with my grandfather (Poppy), I set about creating a children's series filled with adventures and unconditional love.
Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Sociology (1996); the University of Connecticut School of Law with a Juris Doctor (1999); and the University of Connecticut School of Business with a Master of Business Administration (2004). After a short stint in private law practice, I have spent the last twenty-one years working for a fortune 50 corporation in various management and executive roles spanning re-locations across three states (Connecticut, Illinois, Florida).
My latest career move has taken me to south Florida where I live with my husband Richard and our cat Charley. I want to give a special thanks to my husband for his support and encouragement, but most of all for being my "biggest fan".
A note about my illustrator...I am thankful to my publisher Mascot Books for connecting me with Vanessa Alexandre. Vanessa is an illustrator and writer based in São Paulo, Brazil, working as a freelance illustrator on children’s books and editorial illustrations since 2007. Vanessa illustrated my story brilliantly, taking my vision on characters and scenes and transforming them into works of art!
